Last year, federal funding was eliminated, creating an ongoing gap for public media. But you stepped forward, helping NMPBS remain strong as a community-funded organization while we continued to bring you the programs and experiences you value.
This season, we’ll explore the meaning of justice with Crime and Punishment in America, follow MASTERPIECE mysteries Maigret and The Gold, and ring in the New Year from Vienna on Great Performances.

Crime and Punishment in America
The Measure of Justice
Crime and Punishment in America, directed by Lynn Novick and executive produced by Ken Burns and Sam Pollard, examines the forces that have shaped America’s criminal justice system, from the pre-colonial era through modern mass incarceration.
The four-part documentary delves into how law, power, race, and class have influencedwho is protected, who is punished, and whose stories are remembered.
By exploring the system’s history and lasting impact, the series invites viewers to consider how safety, accountability, and justice continue to shape American life today.

Q: Why does NMPBS’ schedule change during fund drives?
A: During fund drives, NMPBS features special programs designed to appeal to a broad range of viewers, attract new members, and offer current supporters something different. While the regular schedule may shift, you never miss an episode of your favorite shows, and PBS streaming gives you even more ways to watch.
It may surprise you to learn that pledge programming attracts strong audiences. Fund drive breaks represent less than 2% of our overall airtime, yet the support they generate helps make your favorite NMPBS programming possible.
Member support is NMPBS’ largest source of revenue, helping keep the station the only locally owned and operated media entity in New Mexico. Your individual support makes it possible.
This donation for membership is for no particular show as I watch so many — from NOVA to NATURE to Independent Lens; Mystery; and the numerous specials. It is all worth watching and I thank you!
