Your Questions Answered

Q: What is the latest news on the new Congress and funding for PBS?

A: Time and time again public media proves itself to be more than just great educational television. When the pandemic hit, many stations, including NMPBS, turned themselves into classrooms to help school children and their parents get through the crisis. During this fall’s terrible hurricane season, stations served their communities as NMPBS has done during severe wildfires.

For 21 consecutive years, a national study has rated PBS as the most trusted institution in America. When asked which networks they trust most when it comes to news and public affairs programming, respondents ranked PBS No. 1, ahead of the major broadcast and cable news networks.

Despite this, public media again faces threats to its funding, and once again, public media needs help from the public it serves. The public has always been the greatest source of financial support, and now your voice is needed as well.
